GENERAL OVERVIEW ABOUT ACCOMMODATION POSSIBILITIES IN RIO DE JANEIRO
For those coming from outside of Rio, staying in the Southern Zone of Rio is recommended. Connecting the South Zone of Rio directly to the Center of Technology of UFRJ, where the event will take place, there is the bus line 485, which connects Ipanema district with the university campus, passing by the districts of Copacabana (stops over the whole Av. N. Sra. Copacabana), Botafogo (stops at Botafogo Bay) and Laranjeiras/Flamengo (stops at Pinheiro Machado street). Uber and taxi are also possible means of transport from the South Zone of Rio to the university campus at Ilha do Fundao.
We suggest searching the internet to book hotels, hostels and short-term rental flats. The latter could be an interesting alternative for small groups.
